How to Hit a Volleyball Correctly (SIMPLE TRICK TO GREAT SPIKING EXPLAINED!)

Do you find yourself getting frustrated
miss hitting the ball? In order to become a good hitter, you need to
understand how to contact the ball correctly. Watch this video and you will
discover my three steps to contacting the ball correctly. For the best advice
on volleyball training and coaching, be sure to subscribe to my channel and hit
the bell to be notified when I post a new video every Tuesday. If you’re constantly
miss hitting the ball and can’t seem to figure out what to do about this, by the
end of this video you’re gonna know what to do to fix this problem. These are the
techniques for spiking I teach my players and now it’s your turn. Number
one. Learn the difference between clawing the ball and snapping the wrist. When you
claw, your hand is in a curved position before you contact the ball. In order to be good at controlling where
you hit the ball, you need to understand how to contact the ball. When contacting
the ball, the goal is to contact the ball in such a way that you create spin on
the ball. So when you hit, you don’t want to hit the ball flat. You want to wrap
your hand over the ball. Snapping is more about the movement at
the wrist. In both cases, the fingers finished pointing downward. This is
what’s important for creating topspin. Always finish with the fingers
pointing down. Number two, get a feel for what it’s like to have a clean contact. When
you make contact with the ball, you should feel your entire hand contacting
the ball. This includes the fingers. If you don’t have the entire hand on the
ball then you are miss hitting the ball. Number three, listening to the sound your
hand makes on the ball. A float contact as more of a thud
whereas a spike that creates good topspin sounds more like a smack. Now if
you haven’t watched my video on hitting with topspin, make sure you check it out.
The link to watch it is the description below along with the cards in this video. Number four,
Aim for the center of the ball. When you’re about to make contact, always focus on the center
of the ball. If you’ve been struggling with hitting or have a question related
to hitting, please comment below with a follow up question. Now you know exactly how to hit
a volley ball properly, but what about the footwork and arm swing you need to
crush the ball? I’ve created a checklist that covers the entire process of
spiking a volleyball. This covers everything you need to know from
approaching the ball to spiking you down over the net. The link is below. If you like this video, please let me know by liking it below.
