Meet Regina’s first all-girls lacrosse team I CBC Kids News


All: One – two – three! Queens! ♪ ♪ My dad started
talking about it. So and I was
like, “What’s lacrosse?” And then he was like, “Oh, it’s just a sport where
you have sticks and you try to get boys on there butt. ♪ ♪ It’s like you get friends
easier because these boys are like, “Who are you?” [laughs] And I’m like,
“I’m Kinlee.” And he was like,
“Okay, goodbye.” I was eight when
I started playing and I fell in love
with the sport. I played all the way
till I was about 20. I never had
any female teammates. I never had female coaches. They weren’t, you know,
very many female refs. And I just really
wanted the girls to have a team to play
on with each other. And that’s something I wasn’t
able to have growing up. ♪ ♪ I really made
my dream come true. ♪ ♪
