Men’s Lacrosse Beats Siena With an Electric Crowd at Tenney Stadium

Great win tonight in front of a really
nice crowd. I’m really proud not only to be the coach here, but to have such a
great couplet alumni come back tonight to celebrate a win against our biggest
rival, Siena. I know it means a lot to those guys that were back here. Today we knew we needed this win. The seniors are 3-0 coming into this game against Siena. All the time we wanted to send them out going 4-0. We did that today.
Get a lot of alumni in the stand to helped us out. Cheer us on today. There’s
a whole team effort. We had a lot of good play by a lot of good players, especially some
young players. We’ve stepped up big today and got us a win. Really proud of the guys coming out of a big night with a lot of younger guys playing, and the
lights on for the first time to come out, and string together some great offense
in the first half against their zone. They’ve been playing really well and
those stops at the end offensively were the difference in the day. We knew coming in 2 & 1 this is a really big game for us. A lot of teams have fewer two
or three wins in the conference right now. So, we knew they were gonna play zone
on us and I thought the office did a great job coming out firing the ball and
moving the ball fast. I thought defense did a great job,
especially at the end of the game locking down. Siena was a bar in the MAAC for a long time and a lot of the guys that came night they woke up
every morning trying to catch those guys. So, for them to see a win against a great
team, Siena it was really special and get him back in the locker room
with something really awesome and I know the guys will never forget. It was great
having the alums back. We were missing that good contingent of guys as Paulie Santavicca, one of the most dedicated alums, was get married this
weekend. A lot of his boys that are down there celebrating. We missed you guys. Congrats to Paulie Santavicca and his wife Roseanne.
