Safety Officials Plan For Busy Weekend Of Pens, Pirates, Pride

CHALLENGES OF WINNING THE CUP AGAIN. PAUL MARTINO HAS MORE. Reporter: EVEN THOUGH THE GAME IS BEING PLAYED SUNDAY IN NASHVILLE, THE PENGUINS ARE INVITING YOU TO COME DOWN HERE, TO COME INSIDE PPG PAINTS ARENA AND WATCH THE GAME ON THE SCOREBOARD. BUT WITH TENS AND TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DESCENDING ON THE CITY THIS WEEKEND, THE CITY OFFICIALS ARE CALLING OUT THE RESERVES, EXTRA COPS AND MORE. THERE WILL BE A LOT OF ASSETS BEING USED THAT THE PUBLIC WILL NOT SEE BEHIND THE SCENES TO INCLUDE PLAIN CLOTHES OFFICERS, OBSERVERS IN HIGH VANTAGE POINTS THROUGHOUT THE CITY AND THE CAMERA SYSTEM. Reporter: AND SHOULD THE PENS WIN SUNDAY, DON’T PLAN ON HEADING TO THE SOUTH SIDE FOR A LATE NIGHT CELEBRATION. THE CITY DOESN’T WANT IT. WHAT WE DON’T WANT IS AFTER THE GAME PEOPLE POURING IN BECAUSE WE’RE GOING TO BE TRYING TO GET EVERYBODY SAFELY OUT OF SOUTH SIDE. Reporter: AND ONCE THE CELEBRATION BEGINS, YOU’LL HAVE JUST AN HOUR AND A HALF TO CLEAR OUT. THE END OF 90 MINUTES WE’RE GOING TO MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS THAT IT IS TIME TO GO AND THEN, IF NECESSARY, WE’LL HELP MOVE THE CROWD OUT OF THE STREETS. Reporter: YOU’LL HAVE TO HAVE A TICKET. $10 TO GET IN, $10 TO PARK. OH, AND THE CONCESSION STANDS ARE OPEN, TOO.
