Tennis Tip – Scissor Kick Overhead

A big hurdle for many amateur players is to really understand how to
hit an overhead on balls that are very deep. The answer to
this is this scissor kick overhead. What you
want to try to do is: your pushing up on the back leg at the same time as your swing to the
ball. That it’s gonna stop the momentum going back. So, the way it works is you
back up you set on your back foot, and at the
same time as you are swinging you are jumping. As you land you catch yourself and move forward. The whole movement looks something like this: Make sure that you are swinging before you are moving forward. A lot of times people think that their swing in forward. No, you’re swinging in up and then moving forward

Hey Edgar your videos are excellent. I was a decent 4.5 player and with your drills you helped me become strong 5.0 player I win all the time now. you are a wonderful and knowledgeable coach I was wondering if you could make a video or a video series with drills that are for the most serious tennis players trying to make it to the challenger and futures level.  Thanks again
