Tourism officials, law enforcement gear up for New Year’s celebrations in the Crescent City

KELSEY: GOOD MORNING HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE. DOZENS OF EVENTS ARE TAKING PLACE ALL ACROSS THE CITY WHERE YOU CAN SAFELY RING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. SOME CHRISTMAS NEW ORLEANS-STYLE EVENTS LIKE REVEILLION DINNERS AND CELEBRATION IN THE OAKS CONTINUE THROUGH TOMORROW. THE ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL GAME IS TOMORROW WITH PREGAME FESTIVITIES ALL DAY TODAY AND TOMORROW IN CHAMPIONS SQUARE. THE BIGGEST EVENTS WILL BE TAKING PLACE ALONG THE RIVERFRONT. A CONCERT IS SET FOR 9:00 P.M. AT JACKSON SQUARE. AS WE APPROACH MIDNIGHT, THE CRESCENT CITY COUNTDOWN CLUB WILL PRESENT A FIREWORKS SHOW ON THE RIVER. THEN THE TRADITIONAL FLEUR DE LIS DROP TO BRING US INTO 2016. MARK: THERE’S JUST THAT SENSE THAT HERE WE’VE GOT A NEW YEAR, AND A GREAT BOWL GAME THAT EVENING.
